Peter Pan Pantomime Script Excerpt

TOOTLES, NIBS, CURLY, SLIGHTLY & the ENSEMBLE as LOST BOYS are in a clearing in the woods. TINKER BELL rushes onstage and whispers in TOOTLES’ ear.

TOOTLES: What? We’re under attack!

TINKER BELL points towards the sky and whispers to TOOTLES.

TOOTLES: There’s a bird? And it’s coming to eat us?

TINKER BELL nods. She whispers into TOOTLES’ ear again.

TOOTLES: A Wendy-bird? Are they dangerous?

TINKER BELL nods again. She points at SLIGHTLY and mimes using a bow and arrow to shoot it down.

TOOTLES: (To SLIGHTLY) She wants you to shoot it down.

SLIGHTLY: Shouldn’t we ask Peter first?

TINKER BELL shakes her head. She is handed a bow and arrow from the wings and thrusts it into SLIGHTLY’S hands.

NIBS: Shoot it down!

The LOST BOYS start to chant “Shoot it, shoot it, shoot it!” PETER PAN, JOHN and MICHAEL enter behind them.

PETER: Hey everyone! I’m home.

The LOST BOYS turn to look at PETER PAN. They cheer.

PETER: What are you doing with that bow and arrow?

TOOTLES: We’re going to shoot the Wendy-bird!

MICHAEL: What’s a Wendy-bird?

NIBS: It's a great big bird that wants to eat us.

CURLY: Look, here it comes.

WENDY enters.

TOOTLES: (Seeing her clearly for the first time) Hang on, that’s not a Wendy-bird, it’s a Ladybird!

JOHN: That’s not a Ladybird…

JOHN & MICHAEL: It’s our sister!

PETER: Everyone, this is Wendy. She’s going to be your new mother.

The LOST BOYS all react excitedly.

WENDY: I’m still not sure about that Peter, what if I’m no good?

MICHAEL: Don’t worry Wendy; you can’t be worse than ours.

WENDY: Don’t be so rude, Michael.

JOHN: That’s exactly what a mother would say!

Everyone laughs.

PETER: See, you’re getting the hang of it already. (To WENDY, JOHN and MICHAEL) Come with me; I’ll show you around.
