Cinderella
Pantomime Script

13 Characters ⎜ 11 Principals, 2 Supporting plus Ensemble ⎜ Running time ~2hours

Cinderella is the most-performed pantomime in the country, which means your audience will arrive with expectations. This script is built to exceed them: a principal girl with a real heart, Ugly Sisters who are fabulously awful, and a Fairy Godmother plot that is genuinely original. A large-cast script with strong Chorus scenes and plenty of audience participation.

Cinderella Pantomime Script Synopsis

Cinderella works hard at Hardup Manor while the Baroness Hardup does everything in her power to make her life a misery. Banned from the Royal Ball and tormented by her step-sisters, rescue arrives in an unlikely form: the Fairy Godmother, and Fairy Sparkles, her enthusiastic but gloriously unreliable work-experience fairy.

Armed with L-plates, a magic wand and a lot of enthusiasm, Fairy Sparkles sets about helping Cinderella, with mixed results. Meanwhile, the Ugly Sisters have designs on the Prince, and loyal Buttons is quietly hoping Cinderella might one day notice him.

When midnight strikes, a slipper is left behind, and the race to find its owner is on.

With this script, you shall go to the ball!

Cinderella Pantomime Script Excerpt

BARONESS HARDUP, AMMONIA and AMNESIA are guests at the Royal Ball.

BARONESS: Now girls, remember what we’re here to do.

AMNESIA: Yes mother, to snare the prince and get his hand in marriage.

AMMONIA: And to take home as much champagne as we can carry.

BARONESS: Very good. Amnesia, you go first. And don’t forget, you must approach him with charm and sophistication.

AMNESIA approaches the PRINCE.

AMNESIA: Oi, fitty!

BARONESS HARDUP is appalled and pulls AMNESIA back.

BARONESS: On second thoughts, you go first Ammonia.

AMMONIA approaches the PRINCE.

AMMONIA: Your highness, it is an honour to have been invited this evening.

PRINCE: You’re very welcome.

AMMONIA: I was thinking you could give me a private tour.

PRINCE: No, thank you.

AMMONIA retreats and AMNESIA tries again.

AMNESIA: Hello, your Majesty.

The PRINCE is horrified.

PRINCE: Security!

AMNESIA: Don’t be such a spoil sport.

AMNESIA turns around and heads back. AMMONIA tries her luck again.

AMMONIA: How about I give you a tour of my privates?

PRINCE: I said no, thank you.

Again, the PRINCE steps away. CINDERELLA, in a stunning ballgown, enters.

EMCEE: Our next guest is… Um… I’m not sure of her name, but looking like that, I have absolutely no doubt she has an invitation.

The PRINCE sees CINDERELLA and rushes to tell DANDINI.

PRINCE: Dandini, that’s her. I’ve got to talk to her! Get those two sisters away from me.

DANDINI: How?

PRINCE: I don’t know; make something up!

DANDINI approaches BARONESS HARDUP, AMMONIA and AMNESIA.

DANDINI: Excuse me, apparently the chef hid a million-pound note in the trifle. If you can find it you can keep it!

BARONESS HARDUP, AMMONIA and AMNESIA rush offstage with glee.
